Location & Map
Go to Settings → General to set your business address and map:
- Fill in your Address (free text).
- Optionally add a Google Maps link — get a link from Google Maps using the "Share" feature on your phone, then just paste the code at the end of the URL (the system automatically prepends the fixed prefix
https://maps.app.goo.gl/).
The system parses that link and displays a matching embedded map. On the booking page, customers see an embedded map in the "Location" section along with an "Open in Maps" external link — both the address at the top and the external link open the sharing link you provided directly.
INFO
Location is currently set by pasting a map sharing link, not by searching or dropping a pin directly on a map interface. Whether this section is shown is controlled by the "Location" toggle in Booking page layout.
Link Parsing Logic
Understanding this helps troubleshoot cases where "the map looks wrong":
- The system first tries to extract the Google Place's CID identifier from your sharing link, which lets the preview keep the correct location, the business info card, and the "Open in Maps" link all together.
- If the link has no CID, the system falls back to the precise pin coordinates found in the same link. The map viewport's center point in the URL is never treated as the store address, and the system never guesses a location from the business name or address text.
- Only existing merchants with no Google Maps link set at all fall back to generating a compatible map preview from the address text.
Why the preview sometimes shows just a single point
When a sharing link includes a Place CID, the preview shows the full business info card. Only when the link lacks a CID and the system has to fall back to a precise pin does the preview show just a coordinate point. The "Open in Maps" link below the section always uses your original sharing link.
Common Questions
Do I need to fill in both the address field and the map link? Both are optional, but we recommend filling in at least the address — the address field is free text shown to customers, so even without a map link set, the "Location" section will still display that address text, just without an embedded map.
Can I paste the full long URL instead of the short share code? Yes, the system can parse both the short share code and the full URL, as long as it's a Google Maps domain — but the short code from the phone's share feature is the most stable and recommended source.
The location shown on the map doesn't match my actual storefront — what do I do? First confirm you shared the correct landmark on Google Maps itself, rather than sharing "current location" or a search results list. Then generate a new sharing link and paste and save it again.
Can I paste a link from another map service, like Apple Maps? No, the system only supports Google Maps domain links — links from any other source can't be parsed.
If I change my business name or move locations, does the map update automatically? No, it doesn't update automatically. The map content is stored based on what was parsed from your sharing link at the time you saved it — if you move or want to update it, you need to get a new sharing link and paste and save it again.
Troubleshooting
- No map shows up after saving: This is usually because the link format couldn't be parsed (not a Google Maps domain, or the link has expired). Go back to Google Maps, share again, and get a new link to try.
- The map shows the wrong location: Double-check that the landmark you shared is correct, and avoid sharing "nearby places" or a non-exact search result.
- The map section doesn't show up on the booking page at all: Check whether the "Location" section's visibility toggle is turned off in Booking Page Layout & Content.
