LINE Official Account Integration
Dolyu can connect to your existing LINE Official Account, so appointment notifications, the rich menu, and conversational booking all run through LINE. Go to "Settings" → "LINE" to open the LINE integration center, which has three tabs: Overview, Account, and Rich menu.
INFO
This is about connecting your own existing LINE Official Account — it's not "Dolyu creates a new LINE Official Account for you." You need to first apply for an account yourself in the LINE Official Account backend (LINE Official Account Manager); Dolyu only handles sending and receiving messages and notifications for an account you already have.
Overview: Four Setup Stages
The Overview tab shows your current setup progress across four stages:
- Connect Official Account — whether you've completed the connection wizard on the "Account" tab below.
- Enable features — whether you've set up the rich menu, or turned on conversational booking.
- Team binding — how many merchant members have completed the "receive LINE notifications" binding (e.g. "3 / 5 members bound").
- Customer reach — the share of customers with an appointment in the last 90 days who have completed notification binding.
Until step 1 is done, the page automatically redirects to the connection wizard. This stage list is mainly a checklist of what's left to configure — it doesn't affect whether any feature actually works. For example, even at a 0% team binding rate, customers who are already bound still receive notifications normally.
Account (Connection Wizard)
The connection wizard needs three credentials, all found on the "Basic settings" page of that Messaging API channel in the LINE Developers Console:
| Credential | Purpose | Roughly where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Channel ID | Identifies which LINE channel this is | Top of the Basic settings page |
| Channel Secret | Verifies that webhook requests genuinely come from LINE, preventing forgery | "Channel secret" on the Basic settings page |
| Channel Access Token | Lets Dolyu actively send messages (notifications, rich menu) via the LINE API | Under the Messaging API tab — you need to "Issue" a long-lived token yourself |
After pasting in all three, the system automatically:
- Sets the Webhook URL that the LINE backend needs (no need to manually paste a URL into the LINE backend yourself).
- Immediately tests whether the connection succeeds, and shows the test result on screen.
You still need to manually turn on the "Use webhook" toggle
In your LINE Official Account backend's Messaging API settings, there's a "Use webhook" toggle — this is a setting on LINE's side, and Dolyu can't turn it on for you. Even if all three credentials above are correct and the connection test shows success, as long as this toggle is off, LINE won't send message events to Dolyu, and the account is still considered "not actually connected."
Once connected, this page also provides:
- Update credentials — if you've regenerated the Channel Secret or Channel Access Token in the LINE backend, come back here to update them, or webhook verification will start failing.
- Reset setup — clears your current credentials, returns to the not-connected state, and lets you run through the wizard again.
- Test connection — doesn't require re-entering credentials; just confirms whether the current setup is still valid (useful for troubleshooting "why did notifications suddenly stop").
Rich Menu
Manage the layout and buttons of your LINE Official Account's rich menu. You can point a button directly at your booking page URL (see "Share Your Booking Link"), so customers can open the booking page with one tap from the bottom of the LINE chat window, without you needing to share a link separately.
"Apply theme" at the top of the editor offers a set of pre-designed layouts by industry (food & beverage, beauty & hair, fitness, etc.), including background colors, sample images, and button text — click to apply and replace the current canvas content in one step, then adjust the button actions and images yourself. This is a starting template, not a finished product — the sample images that come with it are from the system's built-in library, and you should swap in your own real photos before going live; you'll also need to set the button actions yourself (e.g. pointing to the booking page, or setting up "connect LINE notifications").
The button action list also has two options specifically for the "receive LINE notifications" binding — Connect LINE notifications (customer) and Connect LINE notifications (staff / internal use only). Once set up, a customer or member can trigger the binding just by tapping that button — faster than the default flow described in "Team & Customer Notification Binding" below, with no text message to send. Keep these two buttons separate — the "staff" version should only go on a rich menu shown to your team (or otherwise privately tell your team where to tap), not shared on the same rich menu layout as customers, to avoid customers tapping it by mistake.
Conversational Booking
The "Overview" tab lets you turn conversational booking on or off. Once enabled, customers can book most services directly in a conversation with your LINE Official Account. Services that require a quantity or do not use a staff member provide a link to choose a time and finish on the full booking page.
- Trigger options: Rich Menu button only, keyword only, or both — "both" is recommended to cover every use case.
- If you choose the rich menu trigger, the screen prompts you to set up the corresponding button on the "Rich menu" tab — see "Rich Menu" above. There are two ways to do this:
- Use Dolyu Rich Menu (recommended): go to the "LINE Rich Menu" settings page, and Dolyu automatically fills the correct booking link into the button.
- Configure manually in an external tool: if you want to set up the button manually in the LINE OA backend or another tool, set the button action to "Open URL" and paste in your branded booking link shown on the page; once a customer taps the button, the system automatically authenticates them via their LINE identity and takes them straight to the booking page.
Team & Customer Notification Binding
This is different from "LINE Login"
Even if a merchant member or customer already signs in to Dolyu using their LINE account, they still need to separately complete the notification binding here to receive LINE notifications. LINE Login is about "which account you use to sign in to Dolyu"; notification binding is about "who your business's LINE Official Account sends messages to" — the two are independent of each other.
Binding flow
Customers can start from the booking completion page, the account reminder card, or their profile.
- On a phone, tap "Open LINE." On a computer, show the QR code and scan it with a phone.
- LINE pre-fills "Receive booking notifications." After tapping "Send," the Official Account replies with a connection button — no identification code needed.
- Tapping the button signs the customer into their existing Dolyu customer account, showing the business and account to confirm. They can switch accounts if it's the wrong one.
- After confirming, they follow the remaining prompts in LINE. The connection is only created once the system receives LINE's completion notice, and the original page updates automatically.
Starting from the welcome message or the rich menu's connection button skips the text step — tapping it sends the same connection button, so the customer just needs to confirm their account. The welcome message is on by default and can be turned off on the Overview tab; the other entry points keep working either way.
When a customer starts from the booking completion page and finishes within the time limit, the reply also includes that account's booking details. If they're signed out inside LINE, they should use their usual sign-in method — this binding step never automatically creates a second customer account. If they haven't added the Official Account as a friend yet, an add-friend link is shown on screen.
Time limits
The connection button sent by LINE is valid for about 10 minutes. Start again if it expires. The website waits for about 15 minutes before offering another attempt. A timeout does not remove an existing connection.
Merchant members continue using the existing pre-filled verification-text flow from Notification Settings or Edit Profile. Their verification text remains valid for about 15 minutes. The customer flow does not change member binding.
Inviting members who haven't bound yet
In the team binding section of the "Overview" tab, you can see a list of members who haven't completed binding yet, and click "Invite" for an individual member — the system sends a notification prompting them to finish connecting on their own "My Notifications" page; it doesn't complete the binding on their behalf.
Disconnecting / Reconnecting
“Disconnect” removes the current notification connection without affecting LINE Login or other notification preferences. For customers, “Reconnect” keeps the existing connection until the new LINE account is successfully confirmed. Leaving or timing out does not interrupt the existing connection. Merchant members still disconnect first when reconnecting and should complete the subsequent steps.
Notification Types Customers Can Receive
Depending on appointment status changes and billing events, the LINE notifications customers and merchant members may receive include: appointment created, appointment confirmed, appointment reminder, appointment rescheduled, appointment canceled, appointment completed, customer no-show, merchant follow-up, payment confirmed, refund, points credited, points deducted, and confirmation of a multi-slot booking. Whether a given notification type is actually sent depends on the individual toggles in "Notification Settings" and the customer's own notification preferences.
Stopping LINE marketing messages for a single customer
Opening a customer record from the Customers list lets you run "Stop LINE marketing" for that customer (Admin/Owner only, and only from the customer detail page — see the role restrictions in Customer Profiles & Notes). This is a toggle per customer — there's currently no business-wide bulk toggle that applies to every customer at once.
- By default, only marketing/promotional messages are stopped — service notifications like appointment reminders are unaffected.
- You can additionally check "Also stop service updates (completion notices, reminders)" to turn off service notifications too.
- For a customer who's already stopped, the same entry point instead shows "Restore LINE marketing" — click to undo it.
- If the customer has separately turned off notification categories on their own profile page, "Restore" here only lifts the merchant's manual stop — it doesn't override the customer's own settings.
Common Questions
What plan does my LINE Official Account need to connect? Either an unverified or verified Official Account works — what matters is being able to create a Messaging API channel in the LINE Developers Console and get the three credentials. If your Official Account is managed by an agency or marketing firm and you don't have backend access yourself, ask them to enable Messaging API access first.
How many LINE Official Accounts can one Dolyu business connect? Currently it's one-to-one: one Dolyu business maps to one LINE Official Account.
Can a customer receive notifications without adding the Official Account as a friend? No. Notification binding requires the customer to already be a friend of that LINE Official Account (if they aren't yet during the binding flow, they're guided to add as a friend first). If a customer later blocks or unfollows the Official Account, notifications automatically fail to send.
After binding, does a customer need to rebind when they switch phones? No. Binding is tied to the LINE account itself (not the device) — switching phones or reinstalling the LINE app doesn't affect an existing binding.
What happens to binding data after a team member leaves? Once you remove that member's access to the business account, their notification binding is invalidated too — they'll stop receiving notifications from that business.
What if the Channel Access Token expires or gets regenerated? Go back to the "Account" tab, paste in the new Channel Access Token, and save — the system automatically re-verifies and updates the account info. Forgetting to update it will cause notification delivery to start failing (see Troubleshooting below).
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connection test shows failure | One of the three credentials was pasted incorrectly or has extra whitespace | Re-copy from the LINE Developers Console — the Channel Access Token is especially long and easy to copy incompletely |
| All credentials correct, test succeeds, but customers get no messages at all | The "Use webhook" toggle is off in the LINE backend | Check that the toggle is on in the LINE Official Account backend's Messaging API settings |
| Notifications were working, then suddenly stopped one day | The Channel Secret/Access Token was regenerated in the LINE backend but not updated on Dolyu's side | Go to the "Account" tab, paste in the new credentials, and save |
| A customer completed the binding flow, but the screen stays stuck on "Waiting" | The LINE link expired after 10 minutes, or account confirmation is incomplete | Generate a new link (tap "Connect now") and complete it within the time limit |
| Tapping the rich menu button does nothing | The URL the button points to is misconfigured or has expired | Check the button link on the "Rich menu" tab and confirm the URL is correct |
